The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)

When you have achieved advanced skills as a driver and wish to become an "Expert" the IAM run an advanced driving scheme, which results in an advanced driving test. The scheme is designed to develop the four areas of advanced driving which are:

1. Concentration
2. Observation
3. Anticipation and
4. Planning

Which lead to driving with emphasis on the attributes of "Safe, Systematic, Smooth and (correct use of) Speed. For further detailed information see the IAM Website
